Matt Drange is an award-winning investigative reporter for Osprey and a journalism student at Humboldt State University. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and Investigative Reporters and Editors. Drange reported on in-depth investigations during his time at HSU. He wrote for Osprey in spring 2011, reported for The Lumberjack student newspaper for two years and produced breaking news packages for KRFH.net, the student radio station.
While still at school, Drange worked as a staff writer for the Times-Standard in Eureka, covering crime and courts. His work appeared in the San Jose Mercury News, Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune and North Coast Journal. In summer 2011, he joined California Watch as a contributor to the Daily Report, and in the fall 2011, attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism as one of only 15 people admitted to the Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Reporting.
